What makes this product sustainable?
At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.
Our team dives deep into the sustainability of each designer we carry so you can be confident that your purchases make a positive impact on the world.
We know sustainability can be a nuanced and complex topic, so we broke it down for you in a way that is simple and easy to understand.
Social
Wol Hide greatly values the social wellness of their production partners. All Wol Hide sweaters requiring industrial machine knitting are made in a small family-run Peruvian factory. For hand-knit or hand-loomed work, Wol Hide employs a small artisan collaborative where knitters work from home and develop ways to utilize the scrap fabric.
All of the cut and sew pieces from Wol Hide’s Easy Collection are made in a small family-owned facility local to Pennsylvania, offering quality jobs to the community.
Natural Materials
Wol Hide prioritizes using organic, natural or deadstock fabric whenever possible to keep clothes on our bodies and out of landfills. The majority of their garments are made from alpaca fibers and organic color-grown cotton.
To preserve the integrity of their natural fibers, Wol Hide works with a small woman-owned dye shop near Philadelphia that uses rainwater and non-toxic mineral mordant for their plant dyes.
