Position: Assistant Store Manager

Reports To: Retail & E-commerce Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily business operations of eugenie, ARCHIVE by eugenie, and seasonal pop-ups. General tasks include opening and closing the store, supervising the retail team, communicating with and helping customers, and carrying out directives given by the Manager and Owner. The Assistant Store Manager will also help receive inventory and ship out online orders. Visually merchandising the store as needed and supporting social media and events is another aspect of this role. The Assistant Store Manager should prioritize customer engagement and relationship building with key clients and potential partners. The Assistant Store Manager will lead the store in the absence of the Manager, ensuring they are always leading by example.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leads on setting and achieving team-specific goals.
  • Lead the sales floor and deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Execute daily retail operations to ensure store standards are met by utilizing the daily checklist.
  • Maintain customer relationships and prioritize customer outreach among the sales team.
  • Responsible for customer service and resolving any complaints or grievances via email and in-store.
  • Responsible for learning and communicating all sustainability components for each brand to customers and internally.
  • Assist Manager in reporting and tracking of store KPIs and support in preparing hindsights.
  • Communicate relevant customer feedback about new or existing products and out-of-stocks to Manager and Assistant Buyer.
  • Ensure store visual merchandising standards are met and maintained, with products restocked on the floor on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy in shipping processes.
  • Responsible for tracking and receiving inventory, with support from the Inventory Specialist.
  • Maintain organization of back stock inventory, report storage, and utilities requests to the Manager (shipping materials, paper towels, etc) with support from the Inventory Specialist.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, schedule full store inventory days 2 times a year and oversee regular cycle counts with support from the Inventory Specialist.
  • Support the execution of store events and occasional pop-ups.
  • Support the Manager and Assistant Buyer in planning and executing any necessary changes in the visual environment for each season.
  • Support Social Media Coordinator in content creation within the store and support occasional photoshoots.
  • Expected to bring new ideas and best practices to improve the experience of eugenie for our team and customers.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead retail associates, help customers, and work with management.
  • Great customer service skills, including patience and active listening, to ensure customers feel heard and helped.
  • Visual merchandising and marketing display skills.
  • Conflict management skills to resolve customer issues effectively and ensure the efficiency of the retail team.
  • Good time management skills to set realistic deadlines and follow specific steps to reach time sensitive objectives.
  • Highly motivated and pay close attention to detail.
  • Must be available to regularly work weekend days.

  • Hourly Rate of $23/hour
  • Full Time, 40 hours per week (hourly)
