What makes this brand sustainable?
At Eugenie, we do the research to make it easy to find products that you can feel good about purchasing, using, and wearing.
Our team dives deep into the sustainability of each designer we carry so you can be confident that your purchases make a positive impact on the world.
We know sustainability can be a nuanced and complex topic, so we broke it down for you in a way that is simple and easy to understand.
Natural Materials
Skall Studio utilizes natural materials such as Danish wool, RWS-certified wool, organic cotton, linen from regenerative agriculture in Europe, and recycled biodegradable materials like cotton and wool. Over 90% of their collections meet the Global Organic Textile Standards, and over 80% are made with monofibers.
Low Waste
Skall Studio practices slow fashion production by only releasing two main collections a year and maintaining a Classic Collection available all year round. By sparingly releasing thoughtful, well-made collections designed to live long, Skall Studio is resisting the substantial waste and high turnover of the fast fashion industry.
Circularity
Skall Studios offers a free repair program for their apparel in Denmark regardless of purchasing date, with the only cost to the consumer being shipping. They are working towards expanding this offering internationally.
Responsible Production
Skall Studio knitwear is made in one of the few remaining knitting factories in Denmark family-run for two generations. Linen and cotton garments are produced at a woman-run factory in India which the Skall family has known for generations. All denim is made in a Global Organic Textile Standard-certified factory in Turkey where innovative technologies are employed to keep the environmental impact to a minimum.
